This project seeks to encourage surveillance and control of intestinal parasitosis in vulnerable native communities of remote border areas living in the South of Bolivar State, Venezuela, through: 1.- Characterization of the current intestinal parasitosis situation in pilot communities, 2.- Training native microscopists for the diagnosis and epidemiologic surveillance of intestinal parasitosis, and 3.- To promote an atmosphere of exchange of knowledge, values and community practices for the prevention and control of intestinal parasitosis.
